The College of Veterinary Medicine at Iowa State University, Ames Iowa is accepting applications for a certified Veterinary Technician in the Lloyd Veterinary Medical Center (LVMC). The LVMC provides specialized care and comprehensive medical and surgical services for companion animals throughout Iowa and surrounding states. Our clinicians, residents and interns, technicians, staff, and senior veterinary students work in teams to provide 24-hour, state-of-the-art care to animal patients. The technician will be actively involved with providing care and assistance for ill and injured patients within the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) under the supervision of Clinicians and House Officers at the Iowa State University Lloyd Veterinary Medical Center. Responsibilities also include assisting, instructing, and demonstrating intensive nursing care skills; and assisting students with task completion. The successful candidate will possess multi-tasking skills to manage patients and students, demonstrate attention to detail for managing cases, and possess excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients, clients, referring veterinarians, faculty, and staff members.
Certification as a Veterinary Technician is required
